World Book Day is when all sorts of characters - heroes, villains, princes, princesses and animals.

Easy World Book Day costume ideas
Harry Potter
What you will need - a school uniform, a make-up pencil to draw a bolt of lightning on your child's forehead, a red and yellow striped tie or scarf, round-rimmed glasses and a wand.
Where's Wally
What you will need - a white and red striped jumper, a white a red bobble hat, black pants and some round-rimmed glasses.
Alice in Wonderland
What you will need - A blue dress with a white apron or tabard, and a black Alice hairdband.
Tintin
What you will need - Hair gel for Tintin's quiff, a blue jumper with a white shirt underneath and brown trousers. Use a stuffed dog for Snowy.
Annie
What you will need - Lovely curly red hair or a wig and a red dress with white collar. Like with Tintin, you could also use a toy dog to stand in as Sandy.
Angelina Ballerina
What you will need - A pink tutu and pink pumps, a pink hair bow and some pink facepaint. You can even cut out some pink ears from a piece of card and tape them to a hairband.
