Eastwood takeaway owners fight off man who tried to steal till

Brave takeaway owners fought off two men who tried to steal their till at a Chinese takeaway in Eastwood.

After entering the men tried to reach over the counter to grab money out of the till

Detective Sergeant Luke Todd said: "This must have been a frightening experience for the takeaway workers.

"They was incredibly brave to confront the men.

"Officers were quickly on the scene to Orient Wok in Nottingham Road, Eastwood, after two men tried to take the till and its contents last night.

"The victim managed to stop them, before the offenders left empty handed. They suffered minor injuries to their arms."

Officers have asked any witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious at around 9.50pm on Monday (September 7) to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 688, of September 7.
