Easton Arts Trail to be 'fantastic celebration of Bristol's creative network'

BS5 is going to explode with artwork for two days this summer when the annual Easton Art Trail returns.

This year the theme is diversity and organisers of the event are searching for as many sponsors and artists to make the trail as varied as it can be.

Their hope is this year's trail will include as many different cultures and communities as possible.

More than 100 artists are expected to showcase their work in people's homes, cafés, pubs, community centres and public spaces, making for a dazzling celebration of the city's creatives.

Events co-ordinator Katarzyna Sowinska said this year's event, which takes place on June 15 and 16, has the potential to be a fantastic celebration of Bristol's creative network - providing enough people sign up to take part before the application deadline of April 10.

She said: "We already have some support for this year's trail but it would be great to have even more, particularly from sponsors.

"Easton's Islamic community are on board, who are going to open the Jamia Masjid mosque to exhibit some incredible Arabic art which promises to be amazing.

"The trail isn't necessarily about showcasing art from top artists, but just anyone in the area who wants to exhibit their work and show off their creative side.

"We want to include every single community in Easton this year - more than ever before - so that everyone feels welcome."

Alongside the vast array of artwork on display, there will be live music and workshops for people of all ages to enjoy, with five main venues hosting a range of events.

St Anne's Church will come alive with gigs across the two days while Easton Community Centre will host workshops for people to have a go at creating their own artwork.

Food stalls will sell cuisines from all corners of the globe.
