Eastleigh boss confident Notts County issues will be resolved for start of the season

Eastleigh boss Ben Strevens expects Notts County’s off-field issues to be settled before the season starts and believes they will be strong opposition in the National League.

The Magpies will face last season’s play-off losers on the opening day of the season which kicks off on August 3.

Notts will hope to have new owners in place ahead of the curtain raiser following a tumultuous six months which saw them relegated from the National League and the club unable to pay its staff last Friday.

The club is yet to make one signing and there are glaring holes that need to be filled in Neal Ardley’s squad.

But despite all of those issues, Eastleigh boss Strevens believes they will all be sorted.

“It’s a team that has just come down from a higher division, they are a massive football club and we are quite surprised they are in the National League now,” he said.

“They will be a strong team. I know they’ve got a few issues off the pitch at the minute, but I am sure by the season gets going that will all be sorted out.

“We will be hoping to get off to a good start.”
