The teams behind Street Feast and Eastern Electrics have partnered to host a one day festival that will celebrate both food and music, called Eastival.

Some of the capital’s most familiar names in street food will parking up their food trucks at Three Mills Island in Hackney Wick for the one-dayer, with bites from the likes of chicken specialists White Men Can’t Jerk, Bob’s Lobster, Burger & Beyond and vegan wings maestros, No Bonez.

There’ll also be hot dogs from Rocket Dogs and pizzas from Fundi and, bizarrely, Peloton Pizza, who combine slices with cycling; there is no link with the exercise company of the same name. Puddings will come from, among others, Secret Nicky’s Frozen Custard, who do sundaes. Organisers say bars will be dotted throughout.

In total, 20 traders will be plating up throughout the day, which will kick off at noon and run until 11pm.

As well as the food, there will be music. Headlining will be long-time London favourites Horse Meat Disco the Vauxhall-born, 16-year veterans of the capital’s funk-dance scene. They’ll be supported by a DJ line-up with a focus on soul and hip-hop, as well as a live music bill that’s yet to be announced.

Intended to be a family-friendly event, organisers are additionally promising karaoke, Massaoke –the live-band led singalong – as well as a soft play area and trampolines.
