Kentuckians in the Eastern half of the commonwealth are paying the most for electricity, according to a new tool from the state Energy and Environment Cabinet.

On average, Kentuckians paid around $125 per month for electricity in 2020. That’s the latest data available. Ratepayers in Boyd, Perry and Pike counties tied for the most expensive in the state at a little more than $147 per month with Jefferson County at the other end with bills of about 106 dollars per month.

Energy and Environment Secretary Rebecca Goodman says the new website compares utility costs county to county and is designed to help Kentuckians better understand energy and water usage.
