With a little over a week to go until the promise of a four-day weekend over Easter, many of us in Leeds are looking ahead to see if we can fire up the barbecue.
Easter weekend often marks the start of the warmer weather and although it's not exactly going to be a scorcher, it's looking like the bank holiday weekend will see temperatures rise to the highest yet this month.
The build-up to the four-day break is going to see much of the same, with drab grey clouds and overnight temperatures struggling to climb above freezing.
However, things will start to pick up by the middle of next week, with highs of 13°C forecast for Wednesday, and although there is the threat of a few light rain showers, Good Friday could see the mercury reach as high as 15°C.
It won’t be wall-to-wall sunshine and there is a risk of showers, but there will be a noticeable increase in temperatures following the chill of this week.
Saturday and Easter Sunday look as though they'll be just as warm, with outbreaks of sunshine poking through the cloud cover.
Easter weekend weather forecast
Good Friday - 15°C, with light rain showers and a gentle breeze
Saturday - 15°C and plenty of cloud, but a much drier day
Easter Sunday - much like Saturday's weather, but perhaps a touch cooler, with highs of 14°C forecast
Easter Monday - a little cooler again, with the mercury dropping to 13°C
A spokesperson for The Weather Channel said: "We are looking at above-normal temperatures over the Easter weekend but a mixed outlook with drier conditions to the north and cloudier with outbreaks of rain to the south.
"It will be unsettled on Friday and Saturday before turning drier for Sunday and Monday.
"High pressure over the north and low pressure passing to the south will drive a southerly flow on Good Friday, but pressure is expected to lower from the north-west again and develop a less warm west-northwesterly flow from Sunday into Monday.
"Temperatures could trend closer to normal into Easter Monday."
