Easter weather woes as heavy rain and wind to batter Britain

  • The UK is forecast to experience wet and windy weather over the Easter bank holiday weekend, with conditions becoming unsettled from Friday.
  • Heavy rain bands will move southwards from Friday morning and continue throughout the weekend across much of the country.
  • Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, reaching as low as 1C in parts of Scotland on Saturday.
  • Northern Ireland and other parts of Scotland will see temperatures between 2C and 9C, with wintry conditions continuing into Easter Sunday.
  • Warmer weather is anticipated from Tuesday next week, with temperatures potentially climbing to 13-15C across much of England and Wales, and up to 16C in London.
