Easter Egg Run in Glasgow sees hundreds of bikers join 40th annual charity event

Hundreds of bikers have taken part in the 40th annual Easter Egg Run in Glasgow .

Each year, a convoy of motorbike riders travels through the city to take Easter eggs to patients at the Royal Hospital for Children in Govan.

This year's event began at Glasgow Green at 11am and passed by the River Clyde before crossing over the Squinty Bridge and then heading to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus.

Scotland's record-breaking Easter to get even hotter tomorrow  

Glasgow's Lord Provost Eva Bolander and East Ayrshire's Provost Jim Todd led the event.

The official Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity tweeted: "The Easter Egg Run has reached the Royal Hospital for Children, where the sun is splitting the sky!
