Easter 2020 supermarket opening hours - when are shops open on Easter Monday?

If you're heading out on Easter Monday checking opening times before leaving the house is a must.

Whether you're craving some more Easter eggs or need some essentials for the week ahead, most supermarkets will be operating different opening times to normal.

Many chains including Tesco, Waitrose, Iceland and Asda have already adjusted their opening hours due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Most chains are also implementing special access to both frontline NHS workers and vulnerable and elderly customers throughout the lockdown. There are also some that have restrictions around purchasing certain goods to prevent stockpiling and panic buying.

Tesco

• Saturday 11 April - All stores will be operating normal opening hours.
 
• Easter Sunday 12 April - All stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will open as normal.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  Most Tesco stores will open from between 8am to 6pm.

The retailer advises shoppers to check details for their local store online at tesco.com. 

Waitrose

• Saturday 11 April - All stores will be open between 7:30am and 8pm.
 
• Easter Sunday 12 April - All stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will operate normal opening hours.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  All stores will open from 8am to 8pm, with some branches closing slightly later at 9pm.

Asda

• Saturday 11 April - All stores operating normal opening hours from 8am to 8pm.
 
• Easter Sunday 12 April - Asda stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will operate normal opening hours.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  Most stores will open from 8am to 8pm.

Asda advises all customers to check opening times for their local store by using the online store locator tool.

Aldi

• Saturday 11 April - All stores will be open between 8am and 8pm.
 
• Easter Sunday 12 April - All stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will open until 6pm.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  All stores will open from 8am to 8pm.

Shoppers are advised to double check details for their local store by visiting aldi.co.uk.

Morrisons

• Saturday 11 April - Normal opening hours 8am to 8pm(NHS hours from 7am to 8am for all frontline staff with an NHS badge

• Easter Sunday 12 April - All Morrisons stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will operate normal opening hours.

• Easter Monday 13 April -  All Morrisons will open from 8am to 8pm.

But the retailer advises shoppers to check online using the my.morrisons.com/storefinder for details of their local branches.

Lidl

• Easter Sunday 12 April - All stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will open as normal.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  All stores will open from 8am to 8pm.

Sainsbury's

• Easter Sunday 12 April - All Sainsbury's stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will operate normal opening hours.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  Most Sainsbury's stores will open from 8am to 8pm.

The retailer advises shoppers to use the online store finder tool, which details general opening times and important information for all stores, including Local convenience branches.

Iceland

• Saturday 11 April - All stores will be operating normal opening hours.
 
• Easter Sunday 12 April - All stores in England and Wales will be closed. All stores in Scotland will open as normal.
 
• Easter Monday 13 April -  All stores will open from between 9am to 6/7pm.
