Easter Monday 2020 DIY store opening times for Wickes, B&Q, Argos and more

Many people across the UK are planning to spend the Easter Bank Holiday completing DIY projects.

If some home or garden improvements are on the cards, it's worth checking when the major DIY stores will be open so you can get all the tools and equipment you need.

Most retailers have already made changes to their opening hours and introduced new shopping rules amid the coronavirus pandemic. Following guidance of the government, some stores have also closed temporarily.

We've included full details of when DIY shops will be open below, but customers are advised by each retailer to double check specific timings on their websites as these can vary from store to store.

Savvy shoppers will be pleased to hear there are plenty of online-only deals from the likes of Wickes, B&Q, Argos and Halfords.

Wickes

Wickes (Coventry Telegraph)

Wickes stores are currently closed due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, but the retailer is currently operating a Click and Collect service for a range of essential items.

  • Sunday 12 April: All stores will be closed.
  • Monday 13 April: Most stores will be open from 6:30am to 4pm.

Find out details of your local store by visiting wickes.co.uk.

Screwfix

Screwfix (Screwfix)

With the UK on lockdown, Screwfix stores are currently only open for click and collect on essential orders.

  • Sunday 12 April: All stores will be closed.
  • Monday 13 April: All stores will be open from 8am to 5pm.

In a statement the retailer said: "Please note our stores remain open for Click & Collect on essential orders only. Customers who have ordered essential goods for collection should wait for an SMS confirming their order is ready before visiting the store.

"We are asking all customers to respect the strict Social Distancing measures in place for the safety of both our customers and colleagues. Unless essential, customers should please stay at home and use our home delivery service."

You can use the Screwfix online store finder to find out more information about your local branch.

B&Q

B&Q stores have been closed for the last few weeks now, but customers can still order items online and pick them up from their nearest branch using the click and collect service.

  • Sunday 12 April: All stores will be closed.

  • Monday 13 April: Most stores will be open from 8am to 5pm.

To double check specific times for your local store, use the B&Q online store finder.

Halfords

Halfords is currently offering 20% off across a range of products, from bicycles to pressure washers.

  • Sunday 12 April: All stores will be closed.

  • Monday 13 April: Most stores will be open from 9am to 6pm.

Customers can check specific details of their local store using the online store finder.

Argos

(MirrorPix)

All standalone Argos stores are now temporarily closed due to the pandemic, but you can still visit one that's inside a Sainsbury's store.

This means you'll need to check opening hours for the Sainsbury's supermarkets - which can differ from store to store. There are a total of 300 Sainsbury's shops with Argos concessions inside them.

Shoppers can find their nearest store by visiting the Argos website.

Sainsbury's shops are open between 7:30am and 8am from Monday to Sunday for NHS and social care workers, while on Monday, Wednesday and Friday supermarkets will reserve 8am to 9am for elderly customers.

Check the Sainsbury's Store Finder for full details of all stores.

If you're planning a trip to your local supermarket, we've found out the Easter opening hours of major UK chains like Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and more.
