EastEnders viewers left surprised as Honey Mitchell's real name is revealed

EastEnders viewers were a mixture of stunned and annoyed on Friday, as they made a discovery about Honey on the BBC soap.

Her new partner Adam made a revelation to Habiba, after they nearly kissed.

The pair have been flirting ever since her and her sister’s arrival in February, with it revealed they are old family friends and have a past.

But Habiba’s attempts to seduce him almost worked on Friday, as he came close to kissing her.

He changed his mind though, feeling bad for girlfriend Honey who was waiting for him at home.

But it’s what he said to Habiba about Honey that left some fans seriously stunned.

He referred to Honey as “Susan”, with many confused at who he was talking about.

Susan is in fact Honey’s real name, something that has been brought up on the soap only a few times over the years.

Not everyone was aware of this though, with one fan saying: “Honey is really called Susan?!?!?”

Another agreed: “This is bigger than when we found out Prince Harry is really Henry!!!”

Another simply wrote: “Susan?” as some viewers couldn’t work out who he was talking about.

Meanwhile, other fans were simply annoyed he used her real name, when everyone knows her as Honey.

One fan tweeted: “Please, it’s Honey not Susan,” as a second said: “Ew he calls her Susan.”

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm.
