Eastenders viewers convinced Whitney killed Kat after awkward BBC blunder

Eastenders fans are convinced they've worked out who Whitney Dean knocked down in the recent hit and run.

In the shocking scene that unravelled during last night's episode, May 11, Whitney - who is played by Shona McGarty - was seen furiously driving towards Phil and Ben Mitchell (Steve McFadden and Max Boden), Callum Highway (Tony Clay) and Kat Slater (Jessica Wallace).

Her outburst was fuelled by the discovery that Ben and Callum's wedding had gone ahead as planned, which when paired with her belief that Ben was responsible for Kush Kazemi's (Davood Ghadami) demise she set out on a revenge mission.

The scene unfolded during the last moments of the BBC One show, which should have left fans on a cliffhanger until Thursday, May 13, when they would find out who she knocked over.

But apparently not, as the audio description on BBC iPlayer accidentally revealed the injured party.

According to the audio description, Whitney knocked down Kat.

‘Whitney comes screeching around the corner,’ said the narrator ‘and rams into Kat, who smacks hard against the windscreen’ ‘After slamming on the breaks, Whitney looks in her wing-mirror to see Kat lying face-down on the road.’

Viewers were quick to pick up on the mistake, with many taking to Twitter to mock the BBC for making the mistake.

One person wrote: "Next time you wanna do a suspenseful doof-doof, you may wanna tell the audio describers on @BBCiPlayer #EastEnders."

Another put: "Um.....well done BBC for spoiling your own cliffhanger."

"We all thought so, but now we KNOW so!" wrote a third.

Whilst a fourth fan commented: "Even judging by the hairography in the window shot, no one else has long black hair unless the boys immediately grew a long mane of hair."
