EastEnders turmoil for Sonia in fallout to daughter Bex's suicide attempt

EastEnders airs heartbreaking scenes in an upcoming episode of the BBC soap, as Sonia Fowler struggles with recent events.

Sonia will break down in scenes to air just over a week's time, in the fallout to teenage daughter Bex's suicide attempt.

Last week, the character attempted to take her own life after months of secretly struggling with events in her life, including her upcoming move to Oxford University.

On Friday, Sonia rushed her daughter to hospital but was left reeling when a suicide note was discovered, written by Bex for her mum and dad Martin.

Lisa Fowler had spotted signs that Bex, the best friend of her daughter Louise Mitchell, was struggling.

She tried to get Bex to open up to her, with viewers also concerned the teen might be suicidal.

In an episode scheduled to air on Monday October 14, events take their toll on Sonia.

As she opens up to Lisa, who had aired her concerns to Sonia before Bex's suicide attempt, she crumbles.

Breaking down, Sonia admits she wishes she had listened to her.

Lisa comforts her friend as she admits she blames herself for what happened to her daughter.

Bex finally opens up to her family in scenes this week following the return of her dad Martin.

After being sent home from hospital, she'll speak out to a mental health nurse with her parents by her side.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
