EastEnders trailer teases funeral showdown, new romance and fresh turmoil for Linda

EastEnders has promised big scenes to come next week and beyond, to keep viewers hooked amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The BBC soap has gone down to two episodes a week with filming now halted amid the global pandemic.

Episodes have had to be moved to fit the new schedule, with viewers gutted to have less episodes to watch.

But the soap has been on it with giving fans extra content to keep them tied over, with Friday being no different.

With no episode of the show on as usual, the soap dropped a new trailer on their Twitter account teasing what was to come.

The scenes include moments from tragic Dennis Rickman's funeral, as his grieving relatives prepare to say goodbye.

But an awkward moment between his mum Sharon and her former stepson Ben Mitchell shows she's not keen on him or any of the family being at the service.

Jay Brown is heard saying so, as Ben is comforted by boyfriend Callum Highway.

Someone is seen checking the flowers laid for Dennis with a picture of him - could this be the moment Phil returns?

Ben also drops the L-word on his partner in upcoming episodes, after a troubling time for the duo.

There's love in the air elsewhere too it seems, as Habiba Ahmed is seen snogging Jags Panesar.

Linda Carter battles her alcoholism (BBC)

But it isn't all happiness, as Linda Carter faces her alcoholism battle once more and is seen clutching a bottle of vodka.

As Mick asks his wife to be more honest with her, what will she have to say?

Also in the trailer, Dotty Cotton is shown confronting Ian Beale as he continues to hide the fact he was the reason Dennis was trapped on the boat before his death.

There's romance for Habiba and Jags (BBC)

It looks as though she's causing trouble for him on the day of the funeral which surely won't end well.

Dotty also lands herself in trouble later on when she steals someone's wallet, with the man giving chase.

It's Peter Beale who saves the day though and scares him off - but will Dotty confess about Ian?

EastEnders airs Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
