EastEnders airs a possible showdown in upcoming scenes, as the BBC soap sees the surprise return of Linda Carter.
Mick Carter's wife could be about to confront scheming Janine Butcher who is set on stealing Mick this Christmas.
Actress Kellie Bright is briefly reprising her role as Linda, after exiting the soap earlier this year for her maternity leave.
Her exit storyline in September saw Linda flee Walford with baby daughter Annie, in fear that the baby's real father Max Branning would return and try to take her away.
Mick left with Linda before returning later on, with his daughter Nancy and mother Shirley still in Walford.
In scenes to air next week on the BBC soap, Linda finds her marriage to Mick facing the ultimate test after a couple of years of them being on and off the rocks.
From Linda's alcoholism and her fling with Max, to Mick's abuse turmoil, the couple have had it tough and only this year were they able to finally get back on track.
There is a fresh obstacle for them to face though, that being Janine who always vows to get what she wants.
Janine wants Mick for herself, and decides that she needs to find out what exactly is going on between him and his wife Linda.
It's been teased that there is much more to Mick's solo return, which viewers will find out about in upcoming episodes.
Janine tries her best to manipulate the situation and the Carters to get her own way, but could she tear the husband and wife apart for good?
She and Linda come face-to-face after her bid to track her down, wanting to use whatever they are hiding against them.
Whether she will get to the truth and what this means for the Carters remains to be seen, while Linda's return will air in the episode that plays out on Tuesday December 28.
