EastEnders teases Callum and Ben twist as eagle-eyed fans spot new scene in trailer

EastEnders released a new trailer focusing on Hunter Owen's shocking revenge this week, as he takes residents hostage.

But several eagle-eyed fans spotted something else in the trailer, that has left them slightly distracted from the unfolding drama.

Amid Whitney Dean and Callum Highway's wedding, fans are waiting to find out whether Whit will go through with it after discovering his affair with Ben Mitchell.

Ben rocked up to the wedding and asked her why she'd go through with it knowing Callum was gay, but she was determined the big day go ahead - much to the hopes of Ballum fans that things would be called off to make way for the couple.

Now, some viewers are wondering whether their wishes could in fact be granted, with the fate of the wedding yet to be revealed, as there appears to be an upcoming scene where the boys look pretty close.

First-look clips have been revealed of the dramatic moments that unfold with someone set to be killed off.

The clip shared on the BBC Twitter shows the moment Mel Owen's son heads into the pub with a gun, preparing to take his revenge on Jack Branning.

Keegan is heard shouting: "He's got a gun," and chaos ensues. Inside the pub residents begin their battle to safety, while outside worried residents gather behind the police tape.

But you may have spotted that in said teaser, Callum and Ben are both in shot and are both stood next to each other.

It even appears as though Callum could grab Ben's arm in one moment as the hostage situation unfolds, while Whitney appears to be elsewhere.

Fans questioned whether it could mean hope for Ballum after all, admitting their confusion ahead of the wedding episode.

One fan tweeted: "Trying my best to not fangirl over this but BALLUM ARE STANDING NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND IM EMOTIONALLY NOT OKAY WITH IT. I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY."

Another said: "Is Callum’s hand on Ben’s waist in that new teaser? Or is this a case of delusion?"

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
