EastEnders viewers have often been baffled over the Slater family tree, and how certain characters are related.
The arrival of new family members often creates more confusion, especially during particular scenes.
Viewers have often questioned how the Slaters are all related to one another, with many characters off screen.
While it was known Stacey Fowler is the cousin of Kat Moon, it wasn't really clear how Stacey's family was linked to Kat's.
Also, viewers couldn't quite work out if Mo Harris was a blood relative of Stacey and her cousin Hayley, and if Hayley was even linked to the original Slater family.
It was soon explained, though as best as it could be.
Now, Stacey and Kat actresses Lacey Turner and Jessie Wallace have cleared it up, it would seem.
But their comments might actually confuse fans even more, given their version of events is different to that previously thought.
According to them, who surely know their characters better than anyone, Kat and Stacey are first cousins.
They are related though Kat's dad Charlie Slater being the brother of Stacey's dad Brian.
This would make them blood relatives, while Stacey isn't technically related to Mo as she is the mother of Kat's late mother.
Stacey and her brothers Sean and Kyle are also cousins to Kat's sisters Belinda, Mo and Lynne.
But according to EastEnders fan pages, the detail about Charlie and Brian is incorrct.
While Stacey called Charlie "Uncle Charlie" so it would make sense, it's actually thought that Brian is the nephew of Charlie, not his brother.
One fan pointed out on Twitter : "Charlie Slater’s sister is Stacey Slater’s grandma; he’s her great uncle not her dad’s brother!"
This would make Stacey his great niece, and making her second cousin to the girls and Kat.
Either way, both Kat and Stacey are major and iconic Slater members, even if they have changed their names through marriage.
Neither of them are with their partners now though, so there's room to change them back to Slaters.
