EastEnders stars Ben Hardy and Jessica Plummer spotted out on date

Former EastEnders stars Jessica Plummer and Ben Hardy have reportedly been growing close.

The actress, famed for playing Chantelle Atkins in Walford, and Hollywood heartthrob Ben, who played Ian Beale's son Peter, are currently working on new project The Girl Before - where they play an on-screen couple.

It has not just been on set where the pair have been spending time together with The Sun claiming that the genetically blessed pair have been getting together away from work for a few months.

A source said: "Their on-screen chemistry turned into them spending off-screen time together since June."

Fans reportedly caught a glimpse of the pair - whose time of EastEnders did not overlap - at singer Jade Bird’s London gig earlier this week and that they've been liking each other’s Instagram pictures for weeks.

The Mirror have contacted representatives for Jessica Plummer and Ben Hardy for comment.

It is not the first time that Ben - who has cracked Hollywood following his soap days - has struck up with a co-star.

Earlier this year he was dating his Pixie colleague Olivia Cooke but their romance fizzled out in August following the nationwide lockdown.

Ben first rose to fame playing Peter Beale and he was the sixth actor to play the character.

Ian and Cindy Beale’s son is now played by seventh star, Dayle Hudson.

Jessica left EastEnders in September 2020 after her character was killed by her abusive husband Gray.

The singer-turned-actress made her EastEnders debut in March 2019 when she arrived on Albert Square as the wife of Gray.

EastEnders' executive producer Jon Sen said of Chantelle's exit: "Jessica’s performance is nothing short of extraordinary and even in her final scenes, the audience will be moved by Chantelle’s strength.

"We’re very sorry so see Jessica go but hope that her impact on viewers is long-lasting."
