EastEnders star warns Stacey will go to 'any length' to protect family amid murder twist

Stacey Slater will "go to whatever lengths" to protect her family on EastEnders.

The BBC One soap is airing a huge storyline with Stacey - played by Lacey Turner - as she struggles with the cost of living crisis. Ryan, her ex and the father of her daughter Lily, has made it clear he will be cutting down the child maintenance payments and with a baby on the way for the 12-year-old, it looks like things will get even tighter for the family money wise.

Aside from that, there is also a big whodunnit storyline that has been launched, with Stacey and five other women of Walford in the frame for the 'murder' of an as yet unidentified man with all to be revealed this Christmas.

Now Lacey has explained how Stacey will go to "whatever lengths" to protect her family, hinting that could be related to Christmas.

"She's lucky that she's got a lot of people around her so that she can go out at night to do office cleaning jobs. She's got Martin, Eve, Jean, Alfie, Freddie and all these people to help with the children," she said.

"So she's lucky in that sense but I think, like any person, it's hard to juggle two jobs, three children, school, food, etc. She's struggling but somehow manages, but I think that's down to her good support network."

Viewers think Stacey could be the killer (BBC1)

She added: "She's not a quitter, so she'll keep trying and keep going until she physically can't do any more. I think for her, as long as her kids have eaten, they're warm and they're clothed, then she’s happy and everything else doesn't really matter."

It comes after Lacey revealed she thinks she knows who was murdered at Christmas.

"When we first had the meeting about the storyline, I immediately thought it was someone who wasn’t in Albert Square yet. I don’t think it’s a character that is actually on the show at the moment, but the more that time goes on, and the more the six of us have chatted away, I feel like it’s an accidental death," she explained of the storyline.

There's a huge storyline ahead for all six women (BBC)

"I don’t think it has been done on purpose, and I think that it’s more of a group effort rather than one sole person, and if it is one individual, then I think all of the women are covering for them."

She added: "I think we all might know something we shouldn’t know and we’re all covering for each other, and maybe the person hasn’t been killed? I have a certain person in mind at the moment, but I think my guess is too obvious and I’m probably wrong."
