Many soap stars switch between the different shows, and some of them even find love with a star from a rival soap.
Perry Fenwick, who plays the scrappy Billy Mitchell in EastEnders, caused ripples in the soap industry when he married a star from their rival drama series, Coronation Street.
Perry has been a stalwart of the series, playing the role of Phil Mitchell's cousin since 1998, with more than 1,000 EastEnders episodes to his name - reports My London.
But his commitment to the show was matched when he met his future wife from Coronation Street, Angela Lonsdale.
Angela played police officer Emma Taylor on the Manchester based soap from 2000-03, which would have been a trickyrelationship in the fictional world with Billy Mitchell's criminal history.
After her three year stint, Angela went on to perform in a number of soaps including Holby City and Doctors.
The two split in 2010 after a five year marriage that was thought to have been one of the ‘strongest marriages in showbusiness’.
But sadly according to The Mirror "they just ran out of love. They had a series of heart-to-hearts and decided to call it a day".
In 2016 Angela announced plans to marry session guitarist Jonny Davies.
