EastEnders actor Max Bowden has teased that Ben Mitchell is set for a "turbulent" time amid dark times ahead on the BBC soap.

Next month, during a boat party hosted by Mick and Linda Carter.

It has not yet been confirmed who will perish, but the rumours are building as to who it could be.

And new spoiler pictures have revealed that Keanu Taylor will be returning for the 35th anniversary and will collide with Ben, Callum and Stuart.

Max, who plays Ben, hinted at what was to come during his appearance on Lorraine today.

"The thing with Ben and this is the thing I love with the character is that there's always going to be turbulence," he said. "I think that's what the audience has bought into, it's boring when it's plain sailing."

He also opened up about whether he had met up with all of the other actors who had played Ben in the past.

"We haven't all got together," Max admitted. "Harry Reid, who played Ben before me - we had a night out with Jamie [Borthwick], who plays Jay."

This year, Max is up for a National Television Award for Best Newcomer and revealed that he will be taking his nan to the bash.

"It's always nice to be recognised for your work," he said. "It's been such a big year so it's nice to get that nod for it."

Max added about his nan attending with him: "She keeps sending me new things that she wants - clutch bags and all those things!"
