EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite is selling her belongings to pay for mortgage

EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite admitted that she has started to sell her things in order to pay for her mortgage.

The 50-year-old actress, who starred on the hit BBC soap between 1998 and 2019, has spoke about the effects that the pandemic has had upon the acting industry.

While Tamzin did appear in a production during the pandemic that was filmed from her home, the actress has admitted that this year has been tough for the arts and entertainment industry.

Speaking on the Irregular B****** podcast, Tamzin explained that she was selling clothing online to make ends meet.

"I'm in a situation at the moment where I'm starting to sell things," she told the publication.

"I'm about to set up a website for things that I've either created or bought and don't need anymore. Home things, clothing.

The mum of two added: "I just think this is going to be probably how I'm going to pay my mortgage and exist for a while, until our industry comes back."

While chatting on the show, the former EastEnders star also added that she loved a good car boot sale and has even considered becoming an influencer to make ends meet.

"I'm not snobby or proud about what I do. I love a car boot sale, but everything is online. I'm thinking of ways of: 'How do I do that now?'

"I'm not proud. 'Oh god, influencers make money, how do you go about doing that?" she continued.

"I'm working out ways I could maybe do that. I'm in a decent situation. I can put my career on hold for a while and we will still eat."

Tamzin's latest admission came shortly after the star appeared in a new television series called Dun Breedin, that was recorded from her home.
