EastEnders star Tameka Empson's exit confirmed as Kim Fox leaves Albert Square

EastEnders is about to bid goodbye to a legend as Kim Fox's exit from the soap has been confirmed.

Kim, played by Tameka Empson since 2009, will announce her plans to leave Albert Square in scenes due to air next week.

She'll tell her sister Denise that she's moving away from Walford to start a new job in Scotland.

The two sisters use the news to put their differences aside after months of bickering over the salon.

Kim's ten years in the BBC soap has seen her give comic relief in the middle of huge bust ups and grizzly storylines.

But she's also suffered heartbreak of her own, enduring a miscarriage and the disppearance of her husband Vincent (Richard Blackwood).

The role has seen her win several awards, including Funniest Female Performance at the Inside Soap Awards.

In 2014 she took a break from Walford ater she gave birth to her daughter Nylah.

After a decade in the BBC soap, Tameka has lent her voice to a different TV show — one with a lot less bust ups and knees ups.

Earlier this year the 42-year-old joined the cast of 101 Dalmatian Street - a spin-off of the Disney movie - playing Pearl Police Horse.

She appeared in Strictly Come Dancing 2016 and was the second contestant to leave alongside her partner Gorka Marquez.

Back in March she starred in Comic Relief Does The Apprentice with Amanda Holden, Rylan and Sam Allardyce.
