EastEnders star Samantha Womack to lead in Irish premiere of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

EastEnders legend Samantha Womack is set to star in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when it makes its Irish premiere at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre nest year.

The beloved show will arrive at the venue on Tuesday, March 15th and will run until Saturday, March 19th.

The show is a retelling of C.S. Lewis' classic tale, taking audiences on an enchanting journey to the mystical land of Narnia with siblings Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter. Samantha takes on the role of Narnia’s evil White Witch, returning to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre for the show's Irish premiere.

Samantha previously took to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre stage in the sold out production of The Girl on the Train. She has also made appearances in films such as The Kingsman franchise.

Speaking about her role in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Samantha said: "The book has always been a magical read and having watched incredible actors interpret this role in the past, I am excited to see what she holds for me.

"This production is so beautifully conceived with thrilling sets and costumes and an amazingly talented cast and creative team. I can’t wait to seduce, plot and terrify Narnia into a permanent winter."
