EastEnders star Maisie Smith and mum dance to Britney Spears' Toxic on TikTok

It seems Maisie Smith has certainly found a way to keep both herself and her mother busy in lockdown.

The 18-year-old has shared an epic video of the pair dancing together to Britney Spears’ 2003 hit Toxic after the EastEnders star choreographed a short routine.

Smith shared her smooth moves with mother Julia on TikTok, before posting the video on her Instagram, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage of her teaching the moves to her 'momager'.

The Tiffany Butcher actress captioned the fun video: “Thought I’d share behind the scenes 😅 this was the only way @js.management could remember the choreo!”

Smith’s 589,000 followers appreciated the clip, with Smith’s EastEnders co-star Lorraine Stanley writing: “S*** hot!”

Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, who plays Ash Panesar on the BBC One soap added a series of cry-laughing emojis, while Danielle Harold, who plays Lola, said: “Ah love her!” about Smith’s mum.

This isn’t the first time Smith has turned to dancing to stave off boredom.

The pair previously performed a silly routine to the Tiger King remix of Savage, as well as dancing to Doja Cat’s hit Say So.

But it seems that Smith won’t be left dancing at home to pass the time for much longer, after EastEnders execs gave the soap the green light to resume production – with strict social distancing measures in place to protect the cast and crew.

“We've been looking carefully at how we can safely put some of our shows back into production, and I'm pleased to announce that we plan to begin filming again on both EastEnders and Top Gear by the end of June," BBC director of content Charlotte Moore wrote in The Daily Telegraph. "We're also exploring ways to restart shooting on dramas and other major BBC shows."
