EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White quitting role of Tina Carter after seven years

EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White is quitting the soap.

The actress, 45, has been playing Tina Carter on the BBC One soap for seven years.

But now, she says she's excited to move on to new projects.

The star has confirmed her exit from the show, telling Metro : "I just wanted everyone to know from me that I am leaving EastEnders at the end of the year!

"After seven awesome years, it’s time for me to move on and get excited about other projects! I have had the most amazing time on EastEnders and will miss the cast and crew so much. But I am also completely excited about the new adventures that await me.

"It’s been an amazing ride. Being part of the 30th anniversary, the live eps, the Carter family, working every day with my best friends. Danny Dyer, Kellie Bright and Linda Henry, I love you more than anything in the world."

Luisa went on to thank all of her "amazing fans" for their support over the years.

And she teased that there's still plenty of drama to come for Tina before her exit, telling fans to "keep watching".

An EastEnders spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Luisa will be leaving EastEnders. Luisa has been a fantastic addition to the cast and we wish her all the best for the future."

Luisa's character Tina has been central to some major plots on the soap.

She endured an abusive relationship with her ex Tosh and was forced to confront her past trauma at the hands of Stuart Highway.

She was also a big part of the soap's iconic Pride episode.

Luisa is the latest in a string of stars to announce they'll be leaving Albert Square behind.

Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, and Davood Ghadami, who stars as Kush Kazemi, have both announced that they'll be leaving their roles next year as part of major storylines.

Tina's exit storyline, and who it will involve, is not yet known, but Luisa appears to be hinting that it'll be pretty explosive.
