EastEnders star Kellie Bright teases future for Alfie and Linda amid romance rumours

Kellie Bright has opened up about the possibility of a romance for Linda Carter and Alfie Moon on EastEnders.

Following Linda's husband Mick Carter's presumed death and Alfie losing the love of his life Kat to rival Phil Mitchell, the pair have found friendship with one another as they lead the Queen Vic pub together.

Many fans of the BBC soap are keen to see a romance blossom between Linda and Alfie after their own heartbreaks - as Kellie has opened up about what's in store for the pair and if it would be a possibility for their characters to start dating.

For Kellie, she wants the friendship to continue - rather then focus on romance.

"I think it's really nice to have men and women friendships in a show like ours. Those dynamics usually lead to something else, and actually, I think it is really strong and important to see a platonic relationship between a man and a woman," she shared.

"Weirdly, they did have a bit of a kindred spirit thing going on because of his loss of Kat to Phil and her loss of Mick to Janine. They could really connect over that. I think their friendship's great, so I would like it to continue."

Kellie says the arrival of Elaine causes problems for the friends, as she wants Alfie gone.

Speaking about what's to come, she said: "Linda's gutted really because Alfie's been so good to her, and she's just lost Sharon, so the last thing she wants is to lose her other really good mate. She's terrified Alfie is not going to want to be her friend either.

"Elaine is being very naughty because she's really got her own reasons for wanting Alfie gone."

Elsewhere, Kellie is involved in a huge Christmas storyline, which will see her and five other matriarchs in the Square caught up in a Christmas death, as one - currently unknown - male loses his life on Sharon's wedding day.

Speaking earlier this year, she said of her own theories about the victim's identity: "I’ve got a feeling, I had a very strong feeling, or more of an idea that the victim was going to be a really big player in this show and I’ve slightly changed my mind, and I think it might be someone who is not in the show yet. A character that we’re yet to meet."
