Jake Wood has shown off his new look after leaving EastEnders.
The actor was on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday after his final scenes on the BBC soap aired last week.
Jake, 48, announced his plans to leave Walford behind last year after 15 years of playing Max Branning.
But now he has been able to do something he hasn't for more than a decade - even if it does annoy his wife.
Showcasing his rugged beard as he chatted to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Jake said: "'The wife hates it, but what can you do? I want to go full ZZ Top," as he asked Piers about growing a beard.
He added: "It's the first time in 15 years I don't have to keep my stubble the same."
Jake finished filming for EastEnders in December and it wasn't easy.
"It was a sad moment. Fifteen years is a long time on any show. It was emotional."
On watching his final scenes, he added: "It was a bit weird for me because I finished filming in mid-December so I’ve been away for three months really, my wife and I watched it we invited the kids but they weren’t really interested.
"Fifteen years is a long time on any show, it was an emotional moment. But it'd been three months so it had been a while since I was on set, but the messages I got was great."
And there's still the option of a return as Max simply left the Square on foot.
