EastEnders star 'in advances talks' for I'm A Celebrity as bookings get underway

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be returning to screens later this year to host another series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on ITV.

Last year the iconic competition took place at Gwrych Castle in Abergele due to the coronavirus crisis, and while I'm A Celeb has been "given the green light" to return to the jungle in Australia, the location for the 2021 series hasn't yet been confirmed.

Despite this, there's already speculation over the potential line-up with one EastEnders legend said to be "in advanced talks".

The latest line-up rumour is EastEnders actor Jake Wood, 49, who played Max Branning on the soap from 2006 to 2021, reports NorthWalesLive.

According to The Sun, Jake is in "advanced talks" to appear on I'm a Celebrity, with sources claiming to the media outlet that he's interested in signing up.

A source said: "He would love to go into the jungle. He thinks it would be a great challenge for him and he has of course seen how well other EastEnders stars have done."

Many of the soap's stars have won the show, including Jacqueline Jossa, who crowned Queen in the 2019 series, Charlie Brooks and Joe Swash.

Another source told the Sun recently: "The casting team have booked half of the campmates already and have been bragging about some phenomenal names."

Other celebrities who have shared interest in singing up is Love Island's Olivia Attwood and Gogglebox's Tom Malone Jr.

And while there's plenty who would love the opportunity, there's many who don't.

Last month Piers Morgan blasted Ant and Dec over their I'm A Celebrity 2021 job offer.

In a recent interview, the pair were egged on by Lorraine Kelly to sign up Piers, with Ant joking it might not be a bad idea because he'll be "looking for a job". You can read everything Ant said here.

However, Piers, who recently revealed his connections to Wales, firmly ruled it out, slamming Ant and Dec's "ghastly" offer of humiliating himself in front of the British public.

Firing back in his Daily Mail column, Piers said: "'Well, he's not working at the moment, so he'll be looking for a job,' scoffed Ant, as Dec cackled like a slathering hyena at the thought of luring me into their hellish jungle prison camp.

"Let me make one thing crystal clear: there’s no way I'm ever exposing myself to a series of ghastly gastronomic humiliations for the delectation of the British public.

"When I munch kangaroo testicles, I do so in the privacy of my home." You can read more on what Piers said here.
