Married EastEnders bad boy Danny Dyer has fallen in love with another woman… his mother-in-law.
No, we’re not taking the Mick – the words have come straight out of his own mouth.
Danny, 43, has revealed he’s desperate for his wife Jo Mas to turn into her mum Carol as she gets older.
He said: “You know a lot of men don’t like their mother-in-laws… I think I’m more in love with my mother-in-law than my wife.
“I do love her very, very much. What they say is you look at your wife and then you look at your mother-in-law and that’s what your wife will turn into.
“I can’t wait for my wife to turn into Carol.” Danny revealed all this in a podcast with his pregnant daughter Dani.
The star – who plays troubled Mick Carter – and Jo, 44, were childhood sweethearts.
They married in 2016 and as well as Dani, 24, they have children Sunnie, 13, and Arty, seven. The pair wed after years of Danny cheating, which led to them briefly breaking up in 2009.
As well as his hopes for Jo being more like her mum, Danny talked about getting ribbed by the family over his acting on Sorted.
He said: “I think it’s important you watch the show you’re in, I really do. You can tweak the character and you learn, and you can never learn enough,.
“But when I get caught watching it, they go, ‘Oh, watching yourself again, Mick?’ What a t**t I must look like, watching myself.”
At the moment, it must be hard for Danny to tune in. His character is at the centre of a harrowing storyline where he considers suicide over his childhood abuse.
