EastEnders' Stacey spends the night at Max's as affair looks set to be reignited

Stacey Fowler spends the night at Max Branning's on next week's EastEnders.

She plans a romantic meal with Martin, but forgets about her husband when she finds Max drowning his sorrows in the cafe.

Stacey gives Max some home truths but her attitude changes when he injures himself on a picture frame.

A horrifying discovery is made, leading Stacey to cancel her plans with Martin, who seems surprisingly understanding of the situation.

While checking on Max, he makes a shocking admission which rocks Stacey.

However, unbeknownst to the pair, fuming Martin glares at Max’s house from across The Square.

Stacey wakes up and immediately panics when she realises she stayed over with Max.

Guilt-ridden Stacey promises to make it up to Martin with another candle-lit meal.

Seething Martin is determined to find answers but decides against questioning his wife at the last-minute.

However, when he realises Stacey has cooked extra food for Max, Martin struggles to stifle his anger.

Then Stacey gets a surprise of her own when she heads over to Max's place.

She is stunned to find Ruby with her former lover.

But Ruby is left feeling confused by her friend's reaction as she is unaware of Stacey and Max's chequered history.

Stacey fills her in and Ruby decides to leave due to the awkwardness.

Could Max and Stacey have yet another affair?
