EastEnders Stacey Slater's new wife instantly recognised by viewers

A familiar face popped up on EastEnders last night that fans will instantly recognise.

On Friday, October 29, the BBC One soap opera introduced the new character Eve Unwin, Stacey Slater's new wife.

The pair met and got married while Stacey was in prison after Ruby Allen accused the Albert Square regular of pushing her down the stairs and deliberately causing miscarriage.

But according to Stacey, the pair's marriage is a sham. In Friday's show, Stacey confessed to mum Jean the pair only got married so Eve could prove to probation officers she had somewhere stable to live after leaving prison.

Stacey's new wife is played by actress Heather Peace, who soap fans will immediately recognise.

Heather, an actress and LGBT+ rights activists from Bradford, has a career spanning three decades and has appeared in a variety of British soap operas.

In 2008, Heather appeared in ITV's Coronation Street as Ali, a member of the mountain rescue team who were called to help rescue Liam Connor in the Lake District.

She's also been on ITV's Emmerdale, playing Anne Cullen in 1997.

The TV veteran has popped up in a number of popular shows including The Bill, Casualty, Doctors, Heartbeat, Holby City, Silent Witness and Ultimate Force.

Heather Peace's other credits include secondary school drama Waterloo Road. There, she played Nikki Boston from 2012 to 2014.

Elsewhere, she appeared in the classic ITV drama London's Burning as firefighter Sally Fields, also known as 'Gracie'.
