EastEnders stabbing horror as character ends up seriously injured leaving Callum distraught

Things are about to go from bad to worse for EastEnders ' Callum Highway next week after Fitzy ends up being stabbed.

New BBC spoilers reveal that on Monday Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) will ask Callum (Tony Clay) to quit his job, and although he tells Ben he’ll think about it, deep down he’s torn.

Over at the Slater’s house, an oblivious Phil (Steve McFadden) isn’t happy to see the two policemen there assuming the worst about Callum but Kat (Jessie Wallace) tells Phil she was mugged but he was too busy to listen, ordering him out.

Later that day, Callum and Fitzy spot the mugger that Kat described and decide to chase him but the mugger stabs Fitzy.

Callum challenges the mugger but he ends up getting away.

Seriously injured, Fitzy gives Callum the ring he was planning to propose with as Callum calls for back up but when the paramedics arrive, it’s touch and go.

DCI Arthurs checks in on Callum but he’s distraught and blaming himself for what happened.

Once he's back at home Callum doesn’t want to talk to Ben so distracts him instead.

However, when Callum is distant during their anniversary celebrations, Ben assumes Callum is upset about being asked to quit his job so admits he was wrong but he needs some distance from his police life.

Callum suggests that they don’t talk about work for a while as he feels as though he can’t talk about Fitzy, panics and leaves.

By Thursday, Callum is still in a weird mood and snaps at Ben, but insists he’s fine - despite being anything but.

Later that day, Whitney and Kat are speaking in The Vic but Callum clams up when they ask about the stabbing and Whitney realises something is wrong.

Will Whitney just assume that Callum is feeling guilty about not preventing the attack? Or is there something that he's keeping from her about the stabbing?

EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
