EastEnders spoilers: Walford residents turn against Mel Owen over shock claim

Mel Owen finds herself an enemy amongst her Walford neighbours this week on EastEnders, as she struggles to cope with son Hunter Owen’s arrest.

Hunter was sent to prison after killing stepfather Ray Kelly in a dramatic showdown on New Year’s Day, after he tried to kill his mum.

The pair, stunned by how things went down, ended up burying Ray’s body and acting as though nothing had happened.

Ray was eventually discovered though, and Hunter was arrested for the murder.

In recent scenes, Mel has been doing what she can to get her son out of prison.

The plot was recently revisited at Hunter’s trial hearing, with Walford residents having turned their backs on the teenager.

Ahead of the character’s exit from the soap, he’s tipped to return after a recent trailer saw him brandishing a gun in a mirror.

In scenes to air this week though, Mel takes her anger out on her neighbours as she drops some home truths on them in The Queen Vic.

Fed up of hearing everyone talk about Hunter behind her back, after his crime, she jumps to his defence.

One spoiler picture sees Karen Taylor having to be held back by other residents in anger at Mel’s words.

With son Keegan Baker also there, it’s unsure whether she targets him in her rant, leading to Karen’s outburst.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
