EastEnders spoilers: Stacey Slater forced to 'do something she's never done before'

EastEnders' Stacey Slater will be forced to do something she's never done before in a huge storyline this year.

Stacey - played by Lacey Turner on the BBC One soap - is already struggling with the news her daughter, 12, is expecting her first child, whilst her ex Ryan has made it his aim to make life as difficult as possible for the entire family by cutting her child support.

When Lily chose not to move with him up north, Ryan decided he would have to find another way to get back at the family and said he wouldn't be stumping up anymore money for Stacey and Lily, just as the cost of living crisis kicked in.

It has now been revealed by soap boss Chris Clenshaw that Stacey will have to do something she's never done before in a shocking twist this year, ahead of the huge Christmas storyline which will see six women take a key role as someone is 'murdered'.

Speaking about the upcoming storyline in regards to Stacey, he said: "Not only has Stacey been dealing with the rising cost of living, but also struggling to keep her pregnant daughter out of harm’s way.

"This year Stacey finds herself doing something she’s never done before in an effort to protect her family and unborn grandchild."

No one yet knows who the dead body is - but Lacey has her own clever theory about their identity.

"When we first had the meeting about the storyline, I immediately thought it was someone who wasn’t in Albert Square yet. I don’t think it’s a character that is actually on the show at the moment, but the more that time goes on, and the more the six of us have chatted away, I feel like it’s an accidental death," she shared of her own verdict.

"I don’t think it has been done on purpose, and I think that it’s more of a group effort rather than one sole person, and if it is one individual, then I think all of the women are covering for them. I think we all might know something we shouldn’t know and we’re all covering for each other, and maybe the person hasn’t been killed?"

She added: "In terms of who meets their fate, I have a certain person in mind at the moment, but I think my guess is too obvious and I’m probably wrong ... It was really exciting when we were told. The six of us went up for a meeting with Chris and he told us all about this idea he had about using a flashforward scene, and I think it’s really exciting to do something we’ve never done before. For it to be with six women is also really exciting because that is not something that happens very often."
