EastEnders spoilers: Ruby panics as treatment of Stacey could be exposed by Jean return

Ruby Allen is terrified next week as Jean threatens to expose her villainy to Martin Fowler in EastEnders.

A guilty Ruby confessed to Jean Slater a few weeks ago that she framed Jean’s daughter Stacey Slater for pushing a pregnant Ruby down the stairs and causing a miscarriage.

Ruby also confessed to not trying to get the charges dropped against Stacey, prompting the latter to be sentenced to six months in prison.

Jean was furious and ordered Ruby to tell her husband Martin Fowler the truth that his ex-wife Stacey is innocent.

Before going away on a trip to see her son Sean Slater, Jean told Ruby if she wasn’t honest with Martin then she would tell him herself.

Last week, Stacey’s daughter Lily Slater revealed that Jean was on her way back and Ruby told Martin that Jean’s cancer had returned.

Despite trying to persuade him to go on a holiday with her to avoid Jean, Ruby was told by Martin he wanted to be there of this former mother-in-law.

Next week, Jean is back on Albert Square and it dawns on her that Ruby hasn’t been honest with Martin.

Ruby tries to distract Martin from leaving to see Jean, but Martin is keen to speak to Jean about her diagnosis.

However, Jean is too concerned with another problem - the marijuana left by Big Mo in the garage did not die while she was visiting Sean and instead has grown even more.

Jean asks pal Shirley Carter to help her shift the drugs from the garage, with the latter forming a plan on how to handle the plants.

When Martin returns from seeing Jean, Ruby panics that he knows everything but instead is relieved when he says Jean kicked him out.

However, Martin is keen to get to the bottom of what is going on with Jean.

As he tries to get a hold of Jean, Ruby distracts him but then he gets a call from Lily’s school.

Meanwhile, at Jean’s, Ruby shows up and thinks she can smell marijuana.

Jean and Shirley keep quiet until Ruby leaves of her own accord.

When she comes back later, Ruby thinks they are hiding something.

Back at home, Ruby discovers from Martin that Lily was caught by teachers with weed at school and despite the schoolgirl claiming it was one of her friends from class, Ruby finds her suspicions about the Slater house confirmed.

By the end of the week, Jean tells Ruby that she will be telling Martin the truth about what his wife has done today.

Ruby then comes to a big decision.

Will she be honest with Martin at last or could she take more drastic action?

Actress Louisa Lytton has already finished filming scenes as Ruby as she goes on maternity leave, meaning Ruby’s departure episodes air in the coming weeks.

Bosses have teased that Ruby will meet a “slightly sticky end” with the storyline, so just how dark will this storyline get?

*EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
