EastEnders spoiler: Aaron left fighting for life after second horror prison attack

EastEnders’ Harvey Monroe has a week of turmoil in store on the BBC soap next week, as he receives devastating news about his son Aaron Monroe.

Aaron (Charlie Wernham) is in prison on EastEnders for various far-right activities and acts of violence, after his dad Harvey (Ross Boatman) turned him in to the police.

After initially saying that he wouldn’t be visiting his son in prison ever again, Harvey has relented and has been to see his son behind bars.

On one occasion, Harvey and Dana (Barbara Smith) were disappointed when Aaron suddenly cancelled a visit, only to find out he had been savagely beaten up.

Harvey wanted to say something to the prison officers, but Aaron begged him not to, leaving dad Harvey feeling disturbed about what could be happening to his son.

Since then, Harvey has been threatened by far-right gang leader Neil (Thomas Coombes) that he’s a dead man if he doesn’t take a burner phone to Aaron in prison.

With Neil’s ominous threat hanging over him, Harvey has agonised at the task of smuggling the phone into the prison.

BBC spoilers have now revealed that Harvey is left shaken on the soap next week when he gets a disconcerting phone call.

He is told that son Aaron has been seriously injured and is now being treated in hospital.

Seeing the state he is in, Stacey supports Harvey at the hospital and the pair talk about Jean’s (Gillian Wright) manic episode, with daughter Stacey trying to convince him Jean is unwell, begging him not to marry her.

In later scenes, Harvey is stunned by Jean’s nonchalant attitude when he tells her that Aaron's life is hanging in the balance.

As Harvey begins to realise Jean may be unwell after all, he tells her they need to put the brakes on their relationship as Aaron is his focus at the moment.

In later scenes on the soap, a furious Jean moves back in with the Slaters, but is still determined to walk down the aisle, even if Harvey has pulled the plug.

As the situation spirals, Stacey is alarmed to hear that Billy spotted Jean in her wedding dress, claiming she's getting married today.

Jean heads off to the coast on her own and once there, she has a marvellous time at first, enjoying the comments on her beautiful wedding dress from strangers as she visits a funfair.

But Stacey and Martin head off to Southend to find her - only to arrive and spot Jean running towards the sea in her fairytale white dress.

Can Stacey bring her mum of the sea to safety and get her the support she needs?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
