EastEnders' Shona McGarty and Davood Ghadami bubble up for racy soap snog

EastEnders have confirmed that Shona McGarty and Davood Ghadami were in a bubble together, which allowed them to film an upcoming kiss.

Shona's Whitney Dean and Davood's Kush Kazemi are currently enjoying an intense romance in the BBC soap and things are set to heat up next week.

In a new trailer for upcoming episodes, Whitney and Kush are seen enjoying a passionate snog - but the clip left EastEnders fans scratching their heads.

After watching the advert, many took to Twitter to ask how the kiss was possible due to current social distancing rules.

One person tweeted: "WAS THAT THE FIRST NON SOCIALLY DISTANCED KISS?? #EastEnders."

Another fan wrote: "That trailer. Since when are actors allowed to kiss?? I can’t even see my family bro."

However, another viewer was simply feeling excited and penned: "The latest #EastEnders trailer tonight was fantastic, for once I can’t wait for what’s to come!"

In the clip, Kush is seen passionately kissing Whitney after telling her that he agreed to the deal with the Mitchell family to help them.

"I'm doing it for us," Kush argued, as Whitney replied: "By leaving me on my own?"

The trailer ended with a shot of Kush standing trial, swallowing nervously as he battled his demons before the court.

As it faded out, the voiceover is heard asking: "Is this the end for Kush and Whitney? EastEnders, this week on BBC One and iPlayer."

An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to The Mirror that Shona, 29, and dad-of-two Davood were actually in a bubble together, but it's unsure for how long.

Shona recently spoke about filming Davood's final scenes for the soap after it was confirmed that he would be leaving the cast.

Referring to filming Davood's exit story, Shona said: "It was a strange day. We are very close and he's been on the Square for a long time so we're all really good friends.

"It was a sad day but very exciting to film, I know that he was very excited."

* EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
