EastEnders' Sharon Watts suffers off-screen family death as she attends funeral

Sharon Watts will lose yet another family member after a year of hell following the death of son Dennis last year on EastEnders.

The Walford legend, played by Letitia Dean, will attend the funeral of biological dad Gavin Sullivan, who was played by Paul Nicholas.

His death will bring together warring enemies Sharon and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who blames the Queen Vic landlady for causing son Ian's disappearance.

Ian left Albert Square without a trace last week after discovering that wife Sharon had been plotting to kill him for months as revenge.

After binning his phone, Ian jumped on the tube and left without contacting the rest of his family.

Following his disappearance, Kathy had accused Sharon of being responsible after previously being suspicious over his declining health.

But new spoiler photos have shown that there could be a thawing between the foes when they discover that Gavin has died.

Gavin previously helped Kathy fake her death and he later appeared on the Square and revealed that he was Sharon's biological father.

But Gavin was bad news during his time on the Square, with his villainous storylines including his abusive relationship with Kathy, kidnapping her and threatening to kill Sharon and himself.

He also caused the death of his sister Margaret, played by Jan Harvey.

Both Sharon and Kathy are seen wearing face masks as they appear at Gavin's funeral.

What will Gavin's death mean for Sharon and Kathy?
