EastEnders' Sharon makes harrowing decision as she breaks down over Dennis' dead body

Sharon Mitchell will be left utterly devastated after coming face to face with her son Dennis' dead body on EastEnders next week.

Dennis tragically drowned last month after Mick and Linda Carter's boat party ended in disaster - the same day that her son with Keanu Taylor was born.

As Sharon (Letitia Dean) talks about planning Dennis' funeral, she breaks down in front of Linda and the pub landlady offers to look after Kayden.

She later accompanies Sharon to register Kayden's birth but when they return, Sharon receives a phone call she sin't ready for - her son's body is being released.

Sharon is left struggling to cope and leaves Kayden with his grandmother Karen, who is thrilled about spending time with her grandson.

Kathy does her best to support Sharon but Sharon ends up sobbing as she begins to discuss Dennis' funeral arrangements and is inconsolable when she goes to visit his body.

Will Sharon live to regret her decision? (BBC/Kieron McCarron/Jack Barnes)

This leads Sharon to make a harrowing decision... will she live to regret it?

Meanwhile Ian is wracked with guilt when Sharon thanks him for his support.

Sharon is still oblivious to the fact that Ian locked her son in a cabin on the boat, not allowing him to get to safety in time.

Ian had returned to free Dennis and while he was able to do so, the young teen still drowned in heartbreaking scenes.

When will Sharon find out about Ian's actions and that he wasn't quite the hero he's portraying himself to be?

*EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One
