EastEnders' Sharon finally confesses Ian murder plot to Linda in explosive scenes

EastEnders ' Sharon Beale (Letitia Dean) finally confessed the truth about trying to murder husband Ian to her friend, Linda Carter, on Tuesday.

Max Branning (Jake Wood) had spilled the beans and told everyone that Sharon had tried to kill Ian, who she poisoned several times.

But Sharon laughed off the accusations and it looked like she might get away with it, but Kathy Beale, Ian's mum, believed Max.

She slapped Sharon and Linda jumped to her defence, but Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) began to realise it could be true, so tasked Linda with finding out the truth.

Linda (Kellie Bright) spoke to Max, who laid out all the facts as to how he knew about Sharon's deadly plot, but Linda was still unconvinced and so she spoke to Sharon.

It was there Sharon revealed the truth to Linda, that she tried to kill Ian to avenge her son, Denny, who died when Ian locked him in a room on the sinking boat.

Tina Carter had been framed for one of the attacks on Ian, before she was murdered by Gray Atkins, but it was Phil Mitchell on Sharon's orders.

Linda said: "I never had a sister, Sharon, you're it, the one constant since the day we turned up behind that bar.

"This is one of the most important relationships of my life, I would never judge you, I couldn’t, I love you.

"But I need to know the truth, because this is my family, is Tina innocent, is what Max said about Dennis true?"

Sharon nodded, and explained: "There was a phone message that Denny left from the boat just before, hearing his voice, pleading for his life, I've never felt anything like it Linda, more than ager, it just took me over.

"How could Ian live when Denny didn't? The world was off-balance and if I didn't do something about it it would stay off balance forever and never be right.

"So Phil did it, I made sure I was somewhere else.

"He was my son... He was my son.

"If you were in the same situation, and I pray to god you never will be, what else could I do, i I was to go on living, what else could I do?"

Linda replied: "Maybe, if I was in your position I would’ve done the same.

"‘But to let someone else take the blame? To tear my family apart - shame on you, Sharon, shame on you."
