EastEnders scene 'confirms' return for Stacey Fowler as fears grow for mum Jean

EastEnders aired worrying scenes this week following the collapse of Jean Slater.

The character had no idea that Kush Kazemi, Shirley Carter and Mo Harris were sneaking her bipolar medication into her food and tea, after she stopped taking it.

Their decision led to her suffering a seizure, and almost damaged her kidneys, as they overdosed her on lithium.

After her hospital dash, Jean went missing before being found back at the house.

But she'd changed the locks on the door, and kicked out Kush, Mo and the kids - chucking all their belongings into the Square.

In the latest episode, Kush and Mo were revealed to be staying at the Bed and Breakfast with his son Arthur, Jean's grandson.

Joining them were Kush's partner Kat's children Tommy, Ernie and Bert, and Hayley's daughter Cherry.

They were homeless, with Jean claiming Kush was to blame - while he revealed their new accommodation was only temporary.

As Kush tried to reason with Jean again, she refused to let him in.

He stayed by the front door trying to get her to change her mind, but she was having none of it - leaving him concerned for her.

Later on, viewers were even more worried for her as a delusional Jean began seeing her dead partner Daniel.

Daniel passed away in February after losing his battle with cancer, and Jean has been in a bad way ever since.

After Monday and Tuesday's scenes, significantly the fact Jean had kicked the children out, fans speculated it was leading to the return of Stacey - with actress Lacey Turner soon expected to return from maternity leave.

One fan said: "So lemme guess . . . Jean’s meltdown is what finally brings Stacey back."

Another added: "I hope Stacey comes back before Suki gets her claws in. Jean and Kush clearly can’t cope. #EastEnders."

A third tweeted: "Surely this means that Stacey or Sean will come back when they hear their mum is ill?!"

EastEnders airs Mondays at 8pm, and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
