EastEnders reveals 'dark' storyline for Ben Mitchell amid danger for Martin Fowler

EastEnders has teased new details about Ben Mitchell's current storyline, which is set to take a "dark turn" in the coming weeks.

Max Bowden's character is currently involved in a money lending venture with his pal Tubbs - while his recent dodgy dealings, which led to a showdown with the Panesar brothers, have escalated.

He's been blackmailing Martin Fowler too, and in the coming weeks Ben continues to use Martin as much as possible getting him to do jobs for him.

But amid new spoilers revealing Martin faces danger when Ben goes too far, the soap has promised darker scenes on the cards as the Mitchell potentially loses control.

A new promotional snap shows Ben and Tubbs looking pretty menacingly, while two mystery men stand behind them in the shadows.

It's not known if they're working for the boys or if they're enemies of Ben, but fans will no doubt think they look a lot like the Mitchell brothers Phil and Grant.

While this is not the case and the men appear to be two heavies, the BBC soap has confirmed that Ben's behaviour and determination to get what he wants spells disaster.

With help from Tubbs, Ben's behaviour will turn very dark and viewers will see him go to extreme lengths to get his own way.

But how far will Phil's son go, who does it involve and just what is he after?

It comes as new spoilers for the soap revealed Martin would end up in serious danger thanks to Ben.

Next week, Martin confides in best mate Kush Kazemi about working for Ben and they decide to confront him - but when this doesn't work he comes up with a plan.

When Tubbs gets arrested, Martin asks Ben for help with the latest job, while later on he asks Jack Branning for advice about "a friend" in trouble.

As the week ends, Martin thinks his work with Ben might finally be over but he's left in terrible danger when Ben goes out of his way to show he's not to be messed with.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
