EastEnders reboot twist as fans speculate over appearance of secret love child

EastEnders fans could be left stunned when the BBC soap returns in the autumn with a major love child twist introduced.

The BBC soap was forced to go on its first hiatus in 35 years after it ran out of episodes in June.

Cast and crew only returned to filming recently, so EastEnders viewers will have to wait until the autumn for new episodes to be shown on TV.

The final episode ended on a cliffhanger after Sharon Mitchell bought the Queen Vic from under estranged husband Phil's nose.

But fans have been speculating that Sharon could be in for a shock when Phil's love child appears in Walford in the autumn.

While the soap has been off-air, the BBC are streaming episodes from 2008 - leading some fans to make some links between that year and the reboot in September.

This includes Suzy Branning, who last appeared in EastEnders that year, then played by Maggie O'Neill, and became entangled in a love triangle with Phil and Linda Carter.

Suzy's pregnancy deception was exposed - but was she actually pregnant all along? (BBC)

The troublesome beautician, who is also the sister of Carol Branning, first met Phil after Max arranged for him to help her out with cash while she was struggling financially.

Phil and Suzy became involved in a relationship, but Phil inevitably ended up cheating on her with Linda.

Suzy discovered the affair but rather than end the relationship, she pretended to be pregnant in order to keep her lover.

Unsurprisingly, her deception was exposed and Phil discovered that she wasn't pregnant, leading to her leaving the Square.

But fans are speculating that Suzy may have actually been pregnant - will she return to the Square 12 years later with Phil's baby?
