It could be like the Fast and the Bleedin’ Well Furious on Albert Square very soon.
The new £86.7million EastEnders set gives producers much more scope to film blockbuster movie-style scenes.
The Elstree location has longer stretches of road, unlike the old set, which was marred by short streets.
So when the new backdrop finally makes an appearance, they are planning to make the most of it.
Describing EastEnders scenes already shot there, production manager Rona McKendrick says: “In the fourth episode, there’s a chase sequence – to show off as much of the new area as we possibly can.”

Director Richard Lynn adds in the new issue of Radio Times: “Chase scenes on the old lot would inevitably have gone in one direction only, because there were so many dead ends.
“There is much more flexibility now – more places for the goodies to hide and the baddies to come together.
“I’d really like to do a foot chase in the alleys or back gardens.”
Will there be a hot pursuit when Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter leaves later this year? Could Max Branning make a dramatic return like Mad Max?
