EastEnders Paul Coker star Jonny Labey latest to sign up for Celebrity X Factor

EastEnders hunk Jonny Labey has signed up for Celebrity X Factor.

The star – who played Paul Coker on the BBC soap – is among many celebs who have reportedly agreed to be part of Simon Cowell's revamped version of his talent show, which is due to air in the Autumn.

And the TV favourite, known as the face of Ben Mitchell's late love interest, is said to already be a front-runner after wowing the judges in LA during his audition.

A show source told the Daily Star : "Jonny has really impressed the panel with his vocal ability.

"They weren't expecting him to be as good as he is. Everyone working on the show is saying he'll be one to watch."

"The public know him for his acting, but this will be his chance to show he can sing too".

The celeb contestant – who also competed on and bagged the trophy on reality show Dance, Dance, Dance and has musical theatre experience – will also likely be hoping he can use his skills to bring choreography into his performances.

The new X Factor show is one of two rebooted versions of the singing series that Simon Cowell has created, along with a Champions edition featuring former contestants in a bid to increase the ever sliding ratings.

Alongside Paul, there will be unlikely celeb groups being formed, as they battle to win the hearts of the judges and the votes from the viewers.

One of the especially formed groups will be taken from the cast of 2018 islanders, Samira Mighty , Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Zara McDermott .

Formerfootballer turned hard man actor Vinnie Jones is thought to be on the list to belt out a few tunes, too.

Meanwhile, US Stalk show host Ricki Lake is also reported to be taking to the stage, and will no doubt get the audience hollering her name.

Other stars rumoured to be appearing include TOWIE diva Gemma Collins, BGT judge David Walliams and actor John Barrowman.
