EastEnders' Nasty Nick star John Altman is chasing his dreams of making Hollywood

EastEnders star John Altman has set his sights on making it big in Hollywood.

He is famous for playing the role of Nasty Nick Cotton in EastEnders.

The actor, who has been in the industry for more than 40 years, quit the BBC soap in 2015 but he has vowed it will not be the last time fans see him on their TV screens.

John seems to have his eyes on something much bigger and rightly so as his impressive portfolio of acting experience is bound to turn his dreams into a reality.

The soap star confirmed he is eager to sink his teeth into any role is going in Hollywood.

John revealed he would be happy enough landing a period piece in a Sunday night drama such as Downton Abbey or Belgravia.

But desperately the actor wants to be featured in a BAFTA award-winning film.

He told the Daily Star : "I'd still like to be in an award-winning movie, win a BAFTA."

Insisting that he is not ready to give up, the star added: "I have lots of unfulfilled ambitions. I would love to work in Hollywood, I've never done that."

John has played huge roles including Bill Sikes in Oliver and The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors.

So there's no doubt over him securing his dream piece, thanks to his incredible CV.

The telly favourite also would consider a stint in the West End as it's something he has never had the chance to do before.

At the moment, John is focusing on his music and new album,

But he has revealed acting won't be put on the back burner for much longer.
