EastEnders' Mick Carter vows to make abuser Katy pay after discovering other victims

EastEnders aired powerful scenes on Tuesday night, as Mick Carter realised his abuser had to pay for her sickening crimes.

Mick, played by actor Danny Dyer, was sexually abused by his care worker Katy Lewis when he was just 12 years old.

Katy fell pregnant and fled - only for Mick to uncover the truth years later, when daughter Frankie showed up in Walford.

Mick realised once Frankie revealed Katy was her mother, that she was telling the truth - and old memories of his past sent him on a downward spiral.

He is now coming to terms with the abuse he suffered and what Katy did to him, after attempts to silence him - while she is continuing to manipulate Frankie.

In the latest episode, he remained torn over whether he could go to the police and report her and the crime.

Initially he was scared about everyone knowing the truth, and then it was about other people including Frankie, and what it would do to them.

But after learning he definitely wasn't the only victim, he had to act.

Linda told him about Jed (BBC)

Linda told him about Jed, and him confirming he was the father of Katy's late son Harry.

With Jed only being 29 years old, Linda revealed he would have been around 13 when the baby was born.

Mick reeled from this news, but there was more as Linda confirmed it wasn't only him and Jed who were abused by Katy.

Jed had mentioned "others" when he revealed he'd kept his promise to Katy to keep quiet about Harry and their romance, with Mick realising there were other children she took advantage of.

Conflicted over what to do, he later confirmed to wife Linda that he planned to finally make her pay for what she had done.

Viewers rejoiced over the scenes, supporting Mick's decision as one tweeted: "Right decision Mick. She must be stopped."

Another agreed: "Yes go on Mick! Take the b***h down, make sure they throw away the key!"

A third added: "It's time for Katy to pay. It's nice to see Mick back in his power stance."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
