EastEnders' Louise tries to smother baby Peggy in dark twist before killer confession

EastEnders fans were left horrified tonight when Louise Mitchell tried to smother baby Peggy.

Grieving Louise has been struggling to cope since she betrayed Keanu Taylor and remains convinced she is responsible for his 'murder'.

Bex Fowler grew concerned for her best friend and warned Lisa that she needs help - leaving Louise's mum more determined than ever to support her daughter.

However, viewers feared it may have been too late as Louise broke down in tears and pleaded with Peggy to stop crying.

In a moment of panic while holding a pillow, Louise said: "This is on purpose, isn’t it? You know I’m a bad mum. You can sense it."

Lisa rushed over to the house and heard Louise screaming at crying Peggy to "just stop".

The new mum then moved towards Peggy while holding the pillow up and looked set to make a devastating decision.

But Lisa came in round the back and managed to stop her daughter in the nick of time.

Apologetic Louise collapsed in Lisa's arms in tears - and was given a stark warning from her mum.

Lisa said: "Do you realise what you could have done to her? You could have killed her. You could have killed your baby."

As Louise started to open up, the guilt proved too much and she makes a shocking confession.

Louise admitted: "Like we killed him. Keanu is dead mum...and it's all my fault."

Lisa was left horrified by the bombshell - but will she go to the police with her discovery?

What they both don't know is that Keanu is very much still alive after Martin Fowler and Linda Carter helped him fake his own death.

Taking to Twitter , one EastEnders viewer said: "OMG!!! Thought she was gunna hurt the baby then"

"I thought that was about to be the way they write Louise out! Sent down as a baby killer. Wow," added another.

A third said: "I will crawl into my TV and tell Louise that Keanu is alive. That poor baby was about to be smothered!"
